Stephen Ferraro's experience spans military service, business ownership, investigations, nonprofit management, and community-based organizations. He began his career as a U.S. Army Infantry officer, serving for more than a decade in positions that included Rifle Platoon Leader, Company Commander, and Operations Officer, with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan and assignments in the United States and South Korea.

After leaving the Army as a Major in 2012, Stephen moved into business ownership and entrepreneurship. He has owned and managed businesses, built operations, worked with employees and clients, and experienced firsthand the realities of making decisions when time, people, and resources are limited.

His work as a licensed private investigator added another perspective: learning how to ask the right questions, look beyond assumptions, evaluate information, and understand what is actually happening before deciding what to do next. His nonprofit and community work has expanded that experience into governance, organizational development, programs, partnerships, fundraising, and initiatives involving businesses, nonprofits, schools, government agencies, and community organizations.

Those experiences led to SteMar Leadership Group. The firm was created to bring practical, real-world support to organizations that need more than theory.
